History

NGO Viktorija was founded in 1991 as a civil initiative of a group of intellectuals from Kragujevac aimed at combating sudden deterioration of living conditions in the local community.

The organisation was officially registered at Federal Ministry of Justice in 1999.

The mission of the organisation is social, economic and educational development of the community.

So far, more than 150 minor and mayor projects have been implemented, aided by donors ( ECHO, UNICEF, OXFAM, IOCC, Help Age International, EAR, European Commission, Handicap International, BCIF, Ministry of Labour and Social Policy, etc.).

Activities which have been implemented so far include:

1.Educational programmes: trainings ( languages, IT training, trainings for craft occupations, workshops for establishing a business, etc. );

2.Improving living conditions of the elderly and the disabled through groups for self-help and activities in public works programme;

3.Mobile teams for work with rural population;

4.Clubs for the elderly in rural areas;

5.Volunteering programmes for children and youth;

6.Programmes of psychosocial support for associates and beneficiaries ( workshops, daytrips, camps, etc.);

7.Programmes of economic empowerment through grant programmes;

8.Campaigns and lobbying.
